I have to start by saying that I've never had a product from this company before. The price on this beautiful coat seemed too good to be true. When the coat arrived, I was sooooo surprised at it's high quality. This thing is made BEAUTIFULLY!I am 5'8" and weigh an athletic 145 pounds. Most of the things in my closet are size M with a few smalls mixed in. The medium in this coat fit me perfectly. I often have issues with inexpensive clothing being made too narrow in the shoulders for me. This coat has nice width through the shoulders and reasonably roomy upper arms...a problem area for me also. I have an hour glass shape...very narrow in the core, fairly flat chested and average size hips for someone my size. The waist of this coat can be cinched in which is WONDERFUL for small-waisted people. There is more room in the hips then I need but that's fine. If you are one who tends to put weight on in the mid section, this may be a bit fitted for you, but you can always just not cinch it in at the waist for a boxier fit.As for warmth, I am cold blooded (always cold). This coat is thicker then I expected from the reviews...not super thick but much thicker then my puffer jackets from The North Face (which I do love). This coat is much warmer. I've been pretty comfortable in temps in the 30's and up...don't know how it would do in lower temps on cold-blooded me. I use a VERY WARM Nautica coat for the super chilly temps so this hasn't been tested below about 28 degrees. There is a split designed into this coat at the bottom on the back, making it easier to bend and sit in. For some reason the company put a pull string there so it can be cinched up along the bottom. Since I thought this looked strange and I didn't like the metal clip banging into the backs of my legs when I walk, I just cut it all off and wa-la! It looks and functions better. There is a detachable hood...it easily snaps on and off. The zippers are made of a surprisingly sturdy metal. The pockets have these same metal zippers on them. Like another reviewer or two stated, you can feel these pocket zippers when you stick your hands in your pockets. It's no big deal really but might be worth mentioning. All in all this is a VERY nice coat for the money and is really coming in handy during this cold winter.
